Minutes from 10/22/09 AMSA Meeting

Hi y'all!

Minutes are being sent out just now because....

Upcoming Medical School Visits: We have decided that instead of attempting to squeeze another medical school trip into this semester, we will be going on *three * next semester. If you want to go on any of these, you MUST attend a stadium clean-up before the end of the semester. We have two left--this upcoming Sunday (after the Alabama game) and the Sunday after the Ole Miss game. Both clean-ups will begin at 6am. (Remember: one stadium clean-up equals one medschool visit)

Congrats to our new chapter development officer, Sam Sullivan!

Next Meeting: November 19th! See you at 7pm in the Taylor Auditorium of McCool Hall...

Minutes from 09/24/09 AMSA Meeting

Hey y'all! Here are the (very) tardy minutes from the last meeting!

AMSA BLOOD DRIVE is October 19th--don't forget to sign up by sending Stefanie Vamenta an e-mail! We have one hour slots available, but if you can't work, you can give! Our goal is 60 units!

AMSA Mentor Program: e-mail us if you have any questions about this program. Thanks for the good sign up!

NEXT MEETING is October 22nd at 7pm in Taylor Auditorium of McCool Hall.

Minutes from 08/20/09 AMSA Meeting

DUES: If you haven’t paid your dues, please remember to pay with cash or check at the next meeting. $20 covers all four years (or the years you have left if you are joining as a sophomore, junior, or senior).

FUTURE MEETINGS: Mark your calendars! August 27th, September 24th, October 22nd, and November 19th

AMSA Blood Drive is on October 19th...it's a great way to get volunteer hours. Look for more information and a sign-up sheet at the next meeting!

Practice MCAT is on October 17th. All or most fees will be waived. These are official AAMC MCATs.

CPR/First Aid Courses will be offered this semester.

Med School Visits: Vanderbilt in September, UMC in the Spring. Also, UAB/ UT Memphis later.

Stadium Clean-Up...You MUST do one to attend a med-school visit!! 6 AM the morning after every home football game. This is the only fundraiser we have for AMSA!

MCAT Prep Materials Trading Program: If you have used MCAT materials that you are willing to sell, please contact Brooke Harris at bh396@msstate.edu.

Our first AMSA meeting for this year will be on Thursday, August 20th at 7:00PM in McCool 124!

We will be talking about what we have planned for the year and upcoming events!
